Well, Folks, seems it's a mad, mad world. And, it seems the US is failing miserably at every turn, from foreign policy to domestic infra-structure. Leadership is lacking, education is lagging, and religious fundamentalism raging. All it took was a plane trip from BA to Dallas to remind me of all the things I already knew. Makes me echo questions I heard so frequently abroad: How is it that a country with everything, with such possibilities, can be so ignorant? How is it Bush was elected not once, but twice? How is it America can be so willfully blind? It's absurd, really, and we have only ourselves to blame.
ON OTHER FRONTS, therefore, putting my $$ where my mouth is, I've accepted the non-profit job over the TA-ship in PHIL. No time like the present to start being-in-the-world.

B, I am very happy that this has worked out for you. But then, I'll miss your company on campus :-(
