News from around the world

A few fun news items from around the world:

1. There's a contest to select the most beautiful word in Spanish -- la palabra mas bonita del castellano. The contest is sponsored by the "club de escritores" of Madrid in honor of the Dia del Libro (or day of the book). It's a worldwide contest and various public figures have already cast their vote. The contest is open to anyone. Deadline 21st of this month.

2. Did you hear about "Bedgate"? C. Rice is in a huff because Jack Straw made her sleep on the floor. Actually, she offered, he accepted. What's the problem?

3. Finally, Evo Morales is facing some of the biggest protests he's faced since becoming president of Bolivia. Public transportation workers, "choferes", refuse to work and have called a 24 hour strike across the country because, sob, sob, they don't want to pay taxes or issue receipts (facturas) to customers. Whaaaa.

4. Good day at the Court. There was another protest. This one a bit bad. People either had to risk leaving the front door and getting hit on the head by protestors or risk going out the back door and having no idea where they were. I opted for the front door and nobody hit me.
