Fall, Glorious Fall

Dearest Friends:

I woke up this morning to a chill. Had to close the windows this evening because it was cold. The sun is setting 30 minutes earlier than it used to, despite beautiful days. Today I felt Fall knocking at the door and couldn't be happier.

Had a great lunch interview today followed by a tour of the labyrinth they call the Supreme Court, followed by a personal tour of the library. There was one room that was just so beautiful I could have spent years there. So quietly elegant, and it had one window in particular that no doubt has seen countless wonderful and horrible things. Wooden floors, cabinets, multi-story shelves, and a chandelier from another time. Thanks to introductions, I have managed to bypass all the normal biblio-formalities and, expect for having disco parties in the main hall, I pretty much have carte blanche. Like Bolivia, there was a "manifestation" in front of the Court when I arrived. And, once inside, hidden just behind the entrance doors (all closed but one), I did find a healthy group of police in riot gear just in case. In the grand scheme of manifestations, though, this one was extremely tame, so I wasn't too concerned.

Tomorrow have a meeting with an NGO. Turned in my progress report for the fellowship people. Need to think about what I need at the SCT library, as I think it's a place I wouldn't mind going a few days a week.

Hope everyone is well.

BT
