an evening with the diss

Settling in for an evening of dissing. Had a great day. In at 7 am, skipped lunch, out at 3 pm, which allowed me to do TL, hit the HEB, dinner, and have a nice shower -- and not be tired! I like my job, but am beginning to lament not being able to spend that time on the dissertation. Such is life.

Good week, surrounded be wonderful people. Had lunch with DB on Thursday, the Tim Robbins production of 1984 at the Paramount and a lovely dinner with J on Friday, breakfast tacos, coffee and a long walk with Jenn Saturday morning, breakfast tacos and fresh bread w/ myself Sunday morning, and a great dinner at TK w/ Ray on Sunday, where I ran into Jane. And Nemo finally seems to be settling in nicely, though he's still hiding under the bed when people come around.

Am very happy Thanksgiving is coming around, but really wish I could just take those days to do my own work, uninterrupted. As it is, I'm hoping to be back in Austin Saturday at the latest, so at least I can rest before work resumes Monday.

So, have warmed up a left over, untouched starbuck's coffee (added some warm milk to smooth the edges; that's how busy I am, sometimes I don't even have time to touch my coffee!) and am ready to hit the book(s).
