bt's big adventure

Dearest Friends:

Sorry for the absence; just got my computer back from the shop and, quite frankly, most days, even if I had had my compter with me, I've just been so tired and busy I doubt I would have blogged a thing. I'll get the hang of it though, I'm just that stubborn. The job is great -- the more I learn about it, the more I realize it's going to be one big adventure. A lot like fieldwork in Texas, and I'm approaching it that way. Got a training tomorrow 10:30 to 12:30/1:00 pm, which should be pretty interesting. And my good deed of the week was to save an intern from certain boredom -- he's from Minnisota, an undergraduate, rode his motorcycle alone across the US, is quiet and smart and wry and they had him filing. Imagine.

No real news to report. Thankful it's Friday. Got behind a celebrity in her hummer this morning on my way to work. They're filming a movie at one of the houses just around the corner. All my co-workers seem nice, strong personalities in a good way, and it's already been suggested (and now officially scheduled) by the Executive Director that I be introduced to the Board. And I was wrong; there are only three attorneys on staff.

So here I am. BT. Austin, Texas. Working at a non-profit. Writing my diss. Trying very hard to cross all my Ts and dot all my Is, to do something good and do it well.

Think I'll turn in; it's been a long week and it ain't over yet.

B.
