Death to Denmark?

Please. In yet another of my lost entries, I reported that DW was reporting that the Danish and Norwegian embassies had been sacked and burned in Damascus. In Gaza the German Cultural Center (I believe) and a European Union office. In Beirut, similar stuff. In Tehran today "petrol bombs" were thrown at the Danish embassy. What's next? No criticizing the Church? Politicians? Presidents? God?

And the arguments for censorship I hear (when and if they are made) are thoroughly illogical. More dangerous yet, is the self censoring going on, by governments, by newspapers, by people. Has any news source in the US published the cartoons? I bet not (someone let me know). And editors getting fired over the publication thereof? Unbelievable. Fine, boycott. Fine, protest. Fine, come to the table, debate, be intelligent about it. But burning, destruction, fear, intimidation, lawless mobs and threats of death? Disgusting.

The Clash of Civilizations? Hardly.

May be coming down with a cold myself.
