Wireless and loving it

People, people, people. Where have I been all this while? Dithering? With my head in the sand? Behind the times? Got my computer wired for wireless today and it's fantastic!!!! Not only that, I got my keyboard fixed, so no more dutch spellings. The poor thing had all sorts of fieldwork related injuries and now it's good as new -- thanks to the folks at senor notebook. Also dropped my boots off at the Austin Shoe Hospital for a whopping $44 in repairs (they're excellent boots and have seen me well through three continents; I am if nothing loyal to loyality and good service).

And it was a great day for hearing from people. Heard from REC who was on her drive back from Pittsburg. Gotta a great email replete with photo from DJ (who is in Berlin, on holiday from Munich), had a great lunch chez De, and did hear from K who was taking advantage of the wireless at the Albuquerque airport. Also ran into one of my committee members, which -- Debs can attest to -- was lots of fun. I should really learn to hold my tongue, but why when it's so much fun and so well deserved?

Lovely day. Did the lake. Will do it again tomorrow.

And on a final note, K has the most amazing contraption (very simple really) for steaming/frothing milk I've ever come across. I love it and am having some of the very best, smoothest coffee ever. Perfect for cool, bright Austin mornings and cool, crisp Austin evenings. So have I mentioned I really do love it here?

Hope everyone is well.

B.
