I'm here now hunting for apartments in Buenos Aires.
Lots of nice stuff; they're very internet-evolved with photos and prices and dates available, but I'm the kind of person who likes to see things, well, in person. Of course a friend of my father's already has a place lined up for me (owned by her aunt), that looks lovely (again, in photos), but it's in the 550 USD range, and I'd like to find a little studio for about 375-400 USD, which (from my cursory research) doesn't seem implausible. That would save me huge bucks. She says the place usually rents for 800, that this is a great deal, but again I'm trying to save as much of the verde as I can. Hotel stays ate up way too much of my $$ last time, so maybe I'll just rent it for a week or a month while I get the lay of the land and look for something more economical.
On a sadder note, dogs got the UPS package forwarded to me by the Austin Shoe Hospital containing my favorite sawmethroughthepyreneesandandes boots and so I now no longer have my favorite sawmethroughthepyreneesandandes boots (just the remains). I'm so thoroughly disgusted have pretty much spent the entire evening in mourning. Made in Italy. Excellent leather. One of a kind.
Those of you who love your shoes know this has been a dark, dark day.
B.
