Eisenhower practically done

Howdy Folks:

Got rid of the one month free subscription to Napster in two days, too much of a distraction and slowed down my computer considerably. Result: just about finished with the Eisenhower. Computer's still a mess. Two statements done, cv polished, now just need to edit a writing sample and it's off. Can't stress the importance of committee members. The good ones go out of their way to review your work, give you constructive feedback and provide the general psychological support that is so essential to a successful graduate school experience (and life, really). Teachers in the truest sense and I couldn't be more thankful.

And pets. Where would we be without them? When I'm working late into the night (and early into the morning), Nemo is always there keeping me company. He stays up as long as he possibly can and then will eventually fall asleep, but wherever I am, there he is. I can't tell you how many times I've finished a mad 2/3 day - 2/3 am paper/grant writing frenzy only to find Nemo curled up nicely amongst the papers and books around my desk somewhere, as close to me as he can possibly get. He's been the one constant in these last seven graduate school years and the best companion and I don't know what I'd do without him. What is that they say about pets lowering blood pressure and lengthening life?

Can't say that I have that effect on anyone!

B.
