The BT BA Countdown

Well, okay. Time in the US nearly up. Preparations in full force.

On the $$ front I've just finished filling in the bureaucratic portions of the departmental aid packet (no small thing), though I still have to write the essays (gotta love those essays), need to do my taxes, and officially send in the Eisenhower. The university continuing was a no-go, but I pretty much expected that. Hopefully it'll create an effort-trail, showing the committee that at least, hey!, I'm trying here.

On the BA front, should have a place to live by week's end (which is a good thing, though I'm not sure how close it really is to the metro) and have made contacts with friends of friends and friends of family, so I should have a nice starter circle. Will wait to email my big hitters until I'm well established, comfortable, have gotten in a bit more jogging, and just generally more settled in my new home. The plan is to stay in BA for most of the remaining spring semester (with peripheral trips to Chile and Peru) and head out to Bo for follow-ups during the summer (i.e., their winter). Then back to the US, with a few more grey hairs no doubt, where hopefully some sort of teaching position will await, that or a fellowship would do just fine.

Hope everyone is well!

B.

Though the calendar points to it, it really hasn't hit me that I'll be in Argentina soon. Been reading the LP, though, and it does look nice.
