Howdy Folks!
Lunch was nice. Am now waiting on one of my father´s friends to get back from an "emergency" so we can have coffee. (He´s a doctor.) Sitting in the office was a bore, so I thought I´d hit the shops and do the internet -- never know how long an emergency is going to take.
So I´ve got the sniffles. A week in Dallas should let me get well or worse before hitting Austin.
Massive restructuring on the Tulane front. Thanks for the heads up from S and M. It´s drastic, and I´m not especially happy, but I´m ready to trust Cowen as he´s done admirably so far. Not too happy about the doing away with of Newcomb; doing away with the political science graduate program, on the other hand, is old news.
And, the invitation for all of you to visit me in BA is now officially open. I have my first takers already and suspect there will be a few more as Buenos Aires seems a little sexier to you snobs than Sucre, Cochabamba, or La Paz (though I´m bound to agree).
Here´s (the start of) my Austin food list: Azul Tequila, Taj Palace, PF Changs, Habana, Maudie´s (for REC), Kyoto (sushi!!!!!!!!!!), the Red River, the San Jose, good coffee anywhere, blueberries, browncow yogurt, dates, good bread, wine, and anything else anyone can think of.
Jorge just called. Catastrophe averted. Off to coffee.
B.
