The Unexpected

Dear Friends:

Sitting at my internet cafe on the 25 de Mayo just off the Plaza Colon this morning, I turned to glance out the door and saw two lions staring me in the face. Needless to say, I had another look and they were still there, regarding me in a lion-y (leonine, for the snobs among you) kind of way seeming to say "and, so, how did you end up in Bolivia?". So that´s cbba for you, at any minute something unexpected can pop up. Shortly after the lions (with baboon in tow), a large steet protest went by on its way to the main plaza, replete with loud bangs and chants, followed shortly thereafter by a gang of police on motor bikes. Quite a morning on the 25 de Mayo.

And, to my amazement, they´re letting me copy (yes, I said c-o-p-y) the case files. Sure they´re only two, and they´re infinitely confusing, but it´s something. Something nice and unexpected.

Back to Sucre Saturday for a wrap up, clean up, vacate the apartment kind of trip, then back to cbba (hopefully before week´s end) to then head off to La-la Paz for (final) Phase Four.

Hi B!
Love reading your blog always. Looks like these days you are being entertained in more ways than one! Lions and all. Were they real or just pictures? ;-) Curious...if they are for real, I am coming to get you out of there!!
