Doing the Cochabamba

Dear Friends:

Two excellent interviews today. One with the Defensor and the other with the director of an NGO that deals with women´s issues -- a remarkable woman to say the least. Have another two interviews tomorrow and another on Thursday. Even vistited the MAS headquarters today. Don Evo is in town and though an interview with him is unlikely, I do hope to get in touch with the departmental "dirigente". So far it´s been incredibly easy to set up interviews here. People have been very receptive and, if today is any indication, follow through. Let´s keep our fingers crossed for continued success -- though getting actual figures from any kind of office continues to be difficult as they simply don´t have them or haven´t yet figured out what to do with them.

Am hoping to escape the family frenzy this evening to make a dash to my favorite Italian restaurant -- alone! Dinner last night was a little bit of toast and lots of questions.
