Presto, presto, do your very besto

Dear Friends:

Perhaps it was the dehydration, but I woke up this morning with that little tune in my head (which some of you will recognize from Houseboat), and took it as a good sign (?). Pretty sure I´m all better and am dutifully and happily embarking on my final official week in Sucre. Walked around yesterday and took a few final photos, including the one you see of the many, many banners criticizing the profs for their strike. It reads, literally, "Don´t be lizards, return to classes" (I´m not sure what connotation lizard/lagarto has here, but I´ll ask).

Made a few additional calls this morning to see if final interviews can be set up with a couple of the "ministers" of the Supreme Court and a few other offices, but between travel schedules and meetings things will be difficult. At this point, I´m of the opinion a phone interview will do just fine if it comes to that. Basically am just waiting for what will hopefully be my Tuesday meeting with another member of the Tribunal. After that, I´m cbba bound. Will keep my little place here to faciliate things, but for all practical purposes, I´m out of Sucre. Which means, for one, I´m closing my casilla (so please don´t send anything). Will keep the land line through November, but as I´ll be on the road much of the time, your best bet is the cell phone.

So that´s about it. Phase Two ending nicely. Hope everyone is doing well and that Halloween is lots of fun. I have a nice picture of Fall in Austin and the pumpkin patch on Exposition in my mind and wish very much that I could drive by on my way to Town Lake and back.

B.
