Hi Folks:
Yesterday the CNE or Corte Nacional Electoral postponed the December 4 national and prefecture elections. MAS supporters see this as a move to keep Morales from the presidency, which could lead to problems (right now Morales has the lead in the polls) if no compromise is worked out. Looks like the goal is to have elections around the 11th or the 18th of December -- not too drastic a change. On a selfish note, this may resolve my dilemma as to whether to stay in Bo or not.
As for this month´s mysterious gastrointestinal prize, am feeling somewhat better today after a couple days´worth of bedrest, medications, and rehydrating salts (nasty stuff mixed with water). Say what you will, am of the opinion my recuperation has more to do with the bar of Toblerone I managed to get hold of last night -- though attentive, my doctor lacks the rejuvenating power of good swiss chocolate. (Thanks, Mr. Tobler.)
Other than that, U still on strike. About 8 days now. There was a huge community assembly scheduled for yesterday morning to initiate dialogue, but the profs failed to show. There´s talk of postponing the rest of the academic year until January and students aren´t happy in the least.
So it seems there are postponements all round! Hope everyone is well with November fast approaching. Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Year´s practically over.
B.
