Briefly: The good news is that my friends Laure and Christophe announce the birth of little Thibault! What better news could there be? The progess is that I managed to post at least 2 photos on the photos link before the computer went poof, although I did find a swanky internet place last night, which may have better and faster capabilities; who knows. If picture posting continues to take so long, it may not be worth the while and I may just have to go the old fashioned route and show everyone an album when I get back. On the social front, Don Raul and Dona Mabel invited me to an art opening last night sponsored by the Peruvian govt, which was very nice. Everyone was kind and polite and friendly. Did manage to speak to some people who had helpful leads, while avoiding the (very disorganized and intrusive) press who was there to cover the event. Don Raul is full of jokes and lots of fun and Dona Mabel is very, very kind; they make a nice pair. Tonight to the ICBA for a film. This afternoon some dry reading on judicial independence in liberal democracies and LUNCH.
By the way, the photo is of the President and whomever else belongs on a balcony. He´s the one with the sash.
